A Flexible Approach to 3d Reconstruction from Single Images
نویسنده
چکیده
Traditional image-based 3D reconstruction methods use multiple images to extract 3D geometry. However, it is not always possible to obtain such images, for example when reconstructing destroyed structures using existing photographs or paintings with proper perspective (figure 1), and reconstructing objects without actually visiting the site using images from the web or postcards (figure 2). Even when multiple images are possible, parts of the scene appear in only one image due to occlusions and/or lack of features to match between images. Methods for 3D reconstruction from a single image do exist (e.g. [1] and [2]). We present a new method that is more accurate and more flexible so that it can model a wider variety of sites and structures than existing methods. Using this approach, we reconstructed in 3D many destroyed structures using old photographs and paintings. Sites all over the world have been reconstructed from tourist pictures, web pages, and postcards.

A New Approach for Quantitative Evaluation of Reconstruction Algorithms in SPECT
ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance. In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...
متن کاملUltra-Fast Image Reconstruction of Tomosynthesis Mammography Using GPU
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...
متن کاملInfluences of reconstruction and attenuation correction in brain SPECT images obtained by the hybrid SPECT/CT device: evaluation with a 3‐dimensional brain phantom
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influences of reconstruction and attenuation correction on the differences in the radioactivity distributions in 123I brain SPECT obtained by the hybrid SPECT/CT device. Methods: We used the 3-dimensional (3D) brain phantom, which imitates the precise structure of gray mater, white matter and bone regions. It was filled with 123I solution (20...
متن کامل3D Structural Fluctuation of IgG1 Antibody Revealed by Individual Particle Electron Tomography
Commonly used methods for determining protein structure, including X-ray crystallography and single-particle reconstruction, often provide a single and unique three-dimensional (3D) structure. However, in these methods, the protein dynamics and flexibility/fluctuation remain mostly unknown. Here, we utilized advances in electron tomography (ET) to study the antibody flexibility and fluctuation ...

Introduction: The purpose of this study is to define the optimal parameters for the tomographic reconstruction procedure in a routine single photon emission tomography. The Hoffman brain phantom is modified to evaluate the reconstruction method. The phantom was imaged in a 3 and 2-dimensional conformation and the results were compared. Materials and Methods: The 2D phant...
